Sunday Worship Service

10:30 am

What to Expect?

We seek God-centered, Christ-exalting, Scripture-saturated worship and teaching to lead us toward a passion for God and His glory.

We view our Sunday worship service as the most important gathering of the church body.

Because we are located in ranch country, many travel from areas around Lampasas, San Saba, Goldthwaite, Adamsville and Bend - and thus our Sunday gatherings take on a vital role in the life of the church.

Praise and Worship

As in many churches, tastes in music style vary widely. Therefore, our praise and worship is a combination of music from both the past and present, put into arrangements that resonate to a multi-generational congregation.

Sermon

We usually follow a theme from start to finish, with each element chosen to complete a package that is theologically sound, inspirational, and practical.

Children

One of our team members can help get your child checked-in for childcare and an incredible children’s worship experience.

  • 6 weeks – 4 years old:  We provide a great nursery and toddler room during our service from birth to 4 years old.
  • Age 5 - 4th Grade:  We provide children’s church to have fun and learn and experience Jesus at their own level in their own setting.
  • Need to take your child out for some time out?  Our service is broadcasted in the Foyer with comfortable seating.

What to Wear

Many people who attend COTH dress casually, while others choose to dress up a little. Come dressed however you feel comfortable to worship with us. We are more interested in having you with us than in what you are wearing.

Everyone is Welcome!

If you have questions, please feel free to ask. We are eager to assist and answer any of your questions.  We also have a "Let's Connect" form as one way to ask questions or make comment.

Communion

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper or Communion about every other month.  This is a sacred time of corporate and individual reflection on the sufferings and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our communion table is open to all who have genuinely placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, regardless of church membership or affiliation.  Parents are asked to ensure that children who partake have trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and have an understanding of what communion symbolizes.

Water Baptism

Water baptism is a significant milestone in the life of every Christian. We believe that water baptism is a biblical teaching and sacred practice for true followers of Jesus Christ.

While baptism itself has no power to cleanse or save from sin, it is an important step of obedience in a believer’s life as an outward acknowledgment and proclamation of the salvation experience of accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The act of immersion and emerging from the water represents the death of our old self, and mirrors the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of water baptism when He gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.  (NIV)

We have put together a list of Common Questions/Answers that you might have pertaining to water baptism.

If you are a believer and have never followed Christ’s command to publicly proclaim your faith through the waters of baptism and are interested in making this statement of your faith, please contact us.
